Update to telephone system

We  appreciate the problems patients have had getting through to us on the telephone.  This has frustrated both staff and patients alike and has been compounded by the fact that patients have been asked not to attend the surgery in person unless they have a booked appointment, resulting in increased daily telephone calls.

We are pleased to say that we now have had an update to our telephone system.  The maximum queue position is 10.  If there are more callers you will not be connected and will need to call back later.  Once connected please choose one of the options listed below for your query to be dealt with.

The current average wait time in the queue is 12 minutes and today (Fri 15 Oct) we still had telephone consultations with the GPs and NPs for the day available to book up until late morning.

We do still have peak periods – 8.00 am and Mon/Tues, so if not an urgent query it may be easier to get through if you telephone at lunchtime or midweek.

Options to press once connected to the Surgery:

Option 1 – MEDICAL EMERGENCIES ONLY

Option 2 – Repeat Prescriptions or alternatively call our Prescription line 01946 518299 which is available 24 hours / 7 days a week

Option 3 – Home Visits  (Please call before 10.30 am if possible)

Option 4 – Appointments and general enquiries
